The Mauryans empire 300BCE

 The invasion of the subcontinent in about 300BCE from east. the dominant kingdom of the Mauryan emperors was founded in what is now the modern state of Bihar. the Mauryan overthrew all of northern india, Pakistan, and Afghanistan and eventually took the whole of the subcontinent except the southern tip.

Their tremendous empire was run by very strict laws. there were police everywhere to make sure the laws were fulfilled. the states acquired all the elephants and horses, and people had to pay to use them. but though it seemed harsh, life for most people Improved as many schools and colleges were opened, new roads were constructed and people could live and travel safely.
