National Awami party was the most oldest and progressive party of Pakistan. in 1957 it was established in dakha by Khan hameed Khan bashani and Yar hameed khan.it was divide into two parts, one in east and one in West pakistan.it play very important role to seperate bangaladesh from pakistan.its one wing is lead by Mujid in West pakistan.In bangaladesh its name was bangaladesh Awami party. This party lost its supremecy after the death of bashani.it was opposed butto and very popular in NWFP and Bolochistan. In East pakistan it was lead by wali khan.

Menifesto 

  1.  Defence of soverigthy
  2.  Defense of integrity
  3. independence of foreign policy
  4. End external and internal explolition from Pakistan
  5. Abolish one unite 
  6. Vote casting

Role in Democracy

  • In 1962 established national democratic front to added different parties .it's main aim is to protect fundemental rights of the people social justice and Parliamentry system.

  • In 1965 it was against Butto to support cop, he didn't given any argument in Kashmir issue and demand of economical and political freedom from ayub Khan.
  • It also demand Provincial autonomy.
  • It also support Ayub in privitization system, foreign and domestic business.
  •  In 1970 NAP won majority seats in NWFP and Balochistan and made alliance with butto to said that they run provincial government.
  • It also critics butto on his continuation of Martial law.
  • It demand foreign policy, currency and defence from butto but never given challenge him on supreme Court. he  never get support from supreme Court because during  this time independent pastune movement was start so court say that during this time of they give all those powers to provinces then pastune seperate from Pakistan.

Causes of failure

  • Lack of unity among party members 
  • Menifesto
  • Courts Critics in it's manifesto because during a pastune sperate movement it demand for full provincial autonomy.
